Rec Centre Facility Wayfinding
A Complex Problem
Navigating the Commonwealth Community Recreation Centre, with its extensive range of facilities including pools, fitness areas, and community spaces, posed significant challenges for visitors. The centre needed a Rec Centre Facility Wayfinding system that would efficiently guide individuals and families through its diverse amenities while ensuring accessibility for all, including those with disabilities.
A Simple Solution
Hi Signs took on the task as the exclusive provider for the centre’s wayfinding needs, developing a comprehensive wayfinding strategy. This strategy included ADA Compliant braille signage, dynamic electronic message centers, informative floor and wall graphics, and clear room identification signs. The design process incorporated facility mapping and detailed content schedules to ensure coherence and functionality. Additionally, the exterior signage was engineered to extend over the building’s parapet for enhanced visibility.
The Result
The implementation of the wayfinding system at the Commonwealth Community Recreation Centre has markedly improved how visitors interact with the space, making navigation straightforward and reducing confusion. This has enhanced the overall visitor experience, ensuring that facilities are accessible and easy to locate. The integration of varied signage types, including digital and tactile solutions, has not only met accessibility requirements but also reinforced the center’s commitment to inclusivity.
