A Complex Problem
The City of Cold Lake required a comprehensive wayfinding system centered around Highway Information and Guide Signs. The objective was to improve navigation for residents and visitors while creating signage that aligned with the City’s unique brand identity. At the same time, the system needed to deliver the durability, safety, and long-term performance expected of highway infrastructure in Alberta conditions.
A Simple Solution
Hi Signs delivered a custom Highway Information and Guide Sign program built using Alberta Transportation material standards, including breakaway I-beam posts for safety and extruded aluminum panels for long-term durability.
To elevate the visual impact, each sign featured a custom-shaped topper that reinforced the City’s identity and created a recognizable family of signage throughout the region. High-performance retroreflective graphics were also applied to ensure maximum visibility and legibility in all lighting conditions.
The Result
The completed Highway Information and Guide Sign system provides Cold Lake with a cohesive and durable wayfinding network that improves navigation while strengthening the City’s visual identity.
