Campus Wayfinding
A Complex Problem
NorQuest College, located in downtown Edmonton, faced the challenge of creating an effective and visually appealing wayfinding system to guide students and visitors through its campus. The aim was to integrate functionality with aesthetic appeal, using color strategically to make navigation intuitive and harmonious.
A Simple Solution
Hi Signs developed a campus wayfinding program using warm, inviting fall colors—red, orange, and yellow—to draw attention and guide individuals smoothly through the campus. This approach involved detailed planning processes, including permitting, engineering, and project management, ensuring that the signage not only met navigational needs but also enhanced the college’s modern and inclusive environment.
The Result
The new wayfinding system at NorQuest College significantly improved the campus experience. The thoughtful use of color and design in the signage made navigating the campus straightforward and enjoyable, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere that resonates with students and visitors alike. This solution has not only enhanced the functionality of the campus but also its aesthetic appeal, embodying NorQuest’s commitment to providing a supportive and vibrant educational environment.
